THRIVE (Center for Integrated TB & HIV Treatment), located within the premises of Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital, is committed to provide comprehensive assistance and dedicated service to all people living with HIV (PLHIV). Our journey began in 2016 when we established ourselves as a critical satellite treatment hub affiliated with the prestigious Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

THRIVE aims to be of help not only to PLHIV but also to their immediate families. We hope that one day, most, if not all, people who suspect that they have HIV will come forward and avail of the services provided by our treatment hub.

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIV AND AIDS

Let us begin by clearing up a common misconception. HIV, which stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is a tricky virus that attacks our immune system, specifically CD4 T cells, which play an important role in keeping us healthy.

AIDS, on the other hand, is a collection of different infections and symptoms that appear when an advanced HIV infection has severely weakened the immune system. Simply put, it's the aftermath of a particularly difficult battle for your body's defense system.
